This is a delicious keto chocolate mousse. It taste great on its own or served with a dollop of double cream and blueberries or strawberries as pictured.
Makes about 8 serves, 8g carbs per serve.
|250g||dark chocolate (85% cocoa)||50g|
|½ cup/4 fl oz||thickened cream 35% fat||5g|
|3||large eggs – separated||nil|
|Equivalent to ¼ cup natural sugar substitute||nil|
|1 tbspn/20ml||Grand Marnier||8g|
Melt chocolate in microwave (use low power for 1 minute at a time & stir after every minute)
In a small bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form.
In a large bowl, beat egg yolks & sugar substitute until light & pale in colour, add Grand Marnier.
In another large bowl, beat egg whites until sift peak form.
Fold chocolate into egg yolk mixture (it will be quite stiff) Fold in egg whites & cream.
Pour into ½ cup capacity/4 fl oz ramekins or dessert dishes. Cover with plastic wrap & put in fridge for 4-6 hours before serving.
